Justin Laster is an animator, photographer and graphic designer. Laster has been creating stop motion videos, using action figures, for various social media sites since 2021, including Tik Tok, YouTube and Instagram. Laster uses the programs Procreate, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro and After Effects to create his animations. In 2022, Laster started doing full commission graphic design work for different individuals. Laster holds an A.S. degree from Jefferson State Community College in 2020 and is a B.A. candidate for the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Laster has also studied painting at Space One Eleven Art Studio. Laster has had work presented at the Jefferson State Community College Spring Art Show from 2017 to 2020. Laster’s work is influenced by the Japanese Anime style, where he has created his own characters. Laster uses various mediums to create his artwork, including photography, digital art, oil and water painting and traditional drawing. Laster was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, where he currently resides.
Laster is currently working on new pieces to submit to the 47th Annual Juried Student Exhibition hosted by Abroms-Engel Institute for the Visual Arts (AEIVA). This show will be located on the campus of the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2023.
